What Causes Bleeding Small Bump On Lower Back Of Head?
Hello, for quite a few years I have had a small bump on the lower back of my head. A month ago I started to real the lump feel tender and then a foul smell. I started to squeeze it and a brown, smelly, waxy discharge started to come out. I thought I was able to get it all out, but I m still conscious about it and today more came out. Should I really be worried and fo you think this can contribute to headaches. Is this a sebaceous cyst?
Hello there, A small lump that oozes discharge on your scalp can be a sebaceous cyst but it should not give rise to headaches. If it is non healing and you suspect that the symptoms are increasing it would be good to consult an orthopaedician and rule out osteomyelitis.
Osteomyelitis is when your skullbone has a small focus of infection and generates discharge chronically. Even though osteomyelitis is rare it can go undiagnosed for years. It is not a cause for worry if diagnosed early.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to address any further queries to me, i would gladly answer them
