What Causes Bleeding Through Vagina And Nose During Lactation?

I am currently breast feeding my 8 month old baby. And I went to the bathroom and seen bright red blood in my underwear, I wouldnt say it was all blood but had some white or clear mucus in it too. Am not sure if this is something I should worry about. My history: I do not breast fed exclusively as the baby is also fed formula and is on solids. I would say I breast feed about 30% of the time in a month. I also felt light headed today and been having frequent nosebleeds that stop when pressure is applied to the nostrils.

Hi,

During lactation you will experience amenorrhea, periods starts on weaning for most of the women, wait for your regular cycle, if to continues to bleed then go for USG pelvis. I don’t think nose bleed is related to lactation use vitamin C for 20 days, daily one.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
