What Causes Blister On The Labia After Having Intercourse?

Hi- I had sex for the first time in 2 years last thursday. We used condoms but it was very dry and rough....towards the end it began to hurt. Needless to say I was sore after and still feel some discomfort. My question is this....yesterday I found a little bump near my labia...could this be herpes showing up as only one bump after 6 days? It doesnt hurt when I pee and i don't have a fever or flu like symptoms. Is it possible it could be a blister from friction from friction? I am a 26 yr old female

Hallow Dear,

Since you had dry intercourse, after a period of 2 years or so, the most likely diagnosis of the swelling you are having on labia could be friction blister. Such blister would appear as a pustule filled with water. It should pain and also burn while urinating. However, after a couple of days if the blister does not burst, it would cease to pain.

If it gets infected, it would present as white pustule and will become throbbing painful which needs antibiotics and/or incision and drainage.

Any bacterial infection or viral infection like herpes would be painful lesions.

Please take care to avoid rupture of the blister; though it is very difficult. If you avoid intercourse and/or rough handling of the private parts, you may succeed in taking care of the blister. However, if it ruptures, have a tulle grass dressing. Sofratulle is very good dressing material for such lesions.

Please take care to avoid contamination of faeces. Cleaning after defaecation should be from before backwards to avoid the contamination. You may use Sofratulle even while the blister is intact. It may help protecting the blister from bursting.

Please report to a Gynaecologist for correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

I hope this helps you.
