What Causes Blisters And Redness On Ears Of A 5 Year Old?
My 5 year old son has blisters and redness that form on his ears. Seems to happen when he s playing outside. Is this heat related? He also gets little blisters on his hands as well. He always wears a hat to cover his ears from the sun. Any ideas? Thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Such blisters associated with itching and related to exposure to Sun. It seem to be allergic (mostly due to sun or may be some tree like China grass or pollens he comes in contact with). Please let him avoid such exposure. Apply suitable sunscreen cream before he goes out. In case of no response, he needs allergy screening test and needful specific treatment by an allergy / skin specialist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
