Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter just had strep throat. My husband now has swollen glands but hie throat does not hurt. Glands are sensitive to the touch. And blisters all in his mouth. He went to the doctor. Strep test was negative. He is on Amoxcillin(4 doses taken)but the blisters in his mouth have gotten worse. Tired and achy as well. Should he go back to the doctor? What is causing the blisters? He cannot eat much at all. Thank you
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain blisters in mouth can be due to causes like Apthous Ulcers, Cold Sores caused by Herpes virus while can also be due to Pemphigus.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Blood tests, Oral swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now you can start gargling with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. You can also take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. You can also take multivitamin tablet daily.. You can drink plenty of water and take a soft diet.. Avoid spicy food..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
