What Causes Blisters On The Head Of The Penis During Intercourse?

My husband is a diabetic. He had a circumcision a few years ago and I think they took off too much skin. Now when we have sex or I manually stimulate him he gets blood blisters around the bottem of the rim of the head of his penis. Should we be worried? Do you know what may cause this or how to make it stop?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

1. The blood blisters around the bottom of the rim of the head of your husband's penis might be due to:
- fungal infection
- allergy

Further tests are needed to determine the right cause.

2. As your husband is a diabetic, erectile dysfunction due to diabetic neuropathy is suspected. I advise to discuss with an urologist for further evaluations and specific treatment.

All the best!
