Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have terrible bloating in the upper, mid-abdomen with a lot of discomfort ALL THE TIME I know I have had benign tumors in the small intestine, have multiple diverticulitis in both my intestines and bladder. Today, I was busy and didn t eat anything until about 1:00 - my abdominal area was quiet and felt normal until I ate something. Is there anything I can do for the discomfort aside from starving? I have RA, Lupus, Fibromyalgia and inherited neuropathy. Is this related to any of those conditions?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Your pain seems to be due to long time starving followed by eating( may be spicy or large serving)... that has stimulated /irritated gastric mucosa to cause the symptoms. Take over the counter pill of Ranitidine 300 mg to reduce the pain. ..you can such 2 pills of Gelusilmps in addition. Consult your treating doctor for diverticulitis/old intestinal problem. Thanks.
