What Causes Bloating When Diagnosed With Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm?
I had been diagnosed with a small abdominal aortic aneurism in 2014. I had it checked again in 2015 and it hadn t changed in size, but haven t had it checked in the last two years. I am presently having some bloating which could be a gastro issue. I am currently trying to get a doctor to order an ultrasound and will have to wait until Monday to find out when that can happen. I have no other symptoms from what I read. Is there any cause for alarm.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Small abdominal aneurysm does not cause bloating or any such gastrointestinal issues. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: X-ray abdomen in standing position to see if there are excess gases, ultrasound of abdomen to see for any liver, gall bladder or pancreatic pathology. This will also help for the review of aneurysm. Also get stool and blood checked and if there is any evidence of an infection an appropriate antibiotic and metronidazole treatment will cure your problems. Stop aerated drinks, any foods and beverages that cause gases like nuts and so on which you might have noticed by this time.
