What Causes Blockage With Mild Pain In Right Ear Canal?
My right ear canal seems to stay closed for a while when my ear is pressed closed - e.g. when laying down or pressing it closed. Tried wax removal drops which helped a little. Slight discomfort but not bad. This has continued for a couple of weeks. Worried about air travel this weekend.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blockage with mild pain in right ear canal which could be because of ear wax accumulation, otitis media and perforation of eardrum.
Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to keep your ear dry and maintain hygiene of ear canal. You should apply warm compresses to external ear. Put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest. Take proper course of antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen for pain management. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor will examine with otoscope and will start treatment accordingly. Avoid excessive use of mobile as it will put more pressure.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
