What Causes Blocked Nose Along With Loss Of Sensitivity Of Smell?

Hi I have blocked nose for few years now I can t smell anything and when I blow my nose nothing comes out when it does come out it s yellowish and there s gritty greyish bits in I do not have a headache but it s scary I can t smell anything at all can you help I ve been to the doctors and always give me antibiotics over the years which haven t helped

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain blocked nose for years along with discharge of yellow mucous and bits of grey seems to be due to condition known as Chronic Sinusitis leading to thick mucous accumulation in the sinuses and as the sinuses drains through nose there is congestion in nose along with loss of sense of smell..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI SCAN OR PNS View x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do warm steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Saline nasal irrigation and using decongestant nasal sprays can help..
You can also be advised steroid nasal sprays..
In case if still it does not resolve Endoscopic sinus surgery can be advised..
