General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The blood and mucus in stool indicate possible underlying intestine infection through some sort of bacteria most likely. In my clinic, I do recommend GI specific antibiotics as metronidazole or nitazoxanide ; probiotics as lacto bacillus and supportive care for best outcomes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
