What Causes Blood Clots And Pus Cells In Urine?

Hi, I am 49 year old female and a smoker. I have had two episodes this year of blood clots in the urine with no other symptons. My doctor has advised i have pus cells in my urine but no sign of infection and is referring me to have an ultrasound scan. What is the possibility of this being cancer?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Your concern is understandable. You should get an urine culture done. See an Urologist with the scan report or post it here in my name. As an Urologist, i can advise you regarding the scan report and whether you need to have a cystoscopy test to rule out cancer. It can be confirmed after the tests.
