General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The blood in spit is different from the blood in phlegm or sputum. The usual cause of blood in saliva or spit is inside the oral cavity and the sputum is involved in lung or heart conditions. I would advise you to get a dental review done rule out any issue with your teeth or gums which are more likely to cause blood in spit.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
