Diabetologist 's  Response
Hello,

From the description it appears to be urinary tract infection. Presence of blood indicates there is considerable severity, plus increased white blood cells also indicate presence of an infection. Since he has been already on antibiotics, it is possible that suitable drug/s may not have been given.

It is better to do a culture sensitivity test to see susceptibility of the organisms (bacteria) and then that antibiotic can be added or started along with plenty fluid intake to control the infection. Treatment may have to be taken for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
