What Causes Blood In Spit?

Hi doctor This is the first time i am experiencing blood on my spit. This morning i tried to Force out my phlegm and it has blood, i think there s more blood than the phlegm. After that i tried it again and less blood came out. Hope you this is not yet severe because this is the first time it occurs. Thanks doc and good day!

Age, gender, and duration of your symptoms not mentioned.

Blood in the sputum is not a normal finding, it indicates some chronic inflammatory condition in your respiratory tract or the lungs.
Get examined by your doctor for proper assessment and possible investigations like ESR, Sputum examination for AFB, and Chest X ray.
