What Causes Blood In Stool During Early Pregnancy?

I am 37 and 4 days pregnant. I have hemorrhoids from my first pregnancy which have not given me much issue this go around until the last couple of days. I had a bowel movement about 2 hours ago and a lot of blood with it. I have peed since and noticed that I am still bleeding. Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Frank bleeding or bright red blood in stool can be due to hemorrhoids and excess blood loss in pregnacy is a matter of concern as the bleed is mostly painless and sometimes goes unnoticed. Blood loss along with increased demand for blood to support needs of advancing pregnancy can lead to Anemia.
Consult your doctor to get Per Rectal examination along with complete blood test to rule out Anemia.
Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
