What Causes Blood In Stool Of A Baby?

Hi, My 5 month old son has very small amount of blood in his stool, but not everyday. The paediatrician and family doctor both believe it is an intolerance to cow s milk protein and soy protein. I am breastfeeding him. I have almost completely removed dairy and soy from my diet for the last three months. I have consumed foods which state may contain milk/soy ingredients . Would this small amount of cow s milk/soy protein still be causing colitis for my son? How much of these proteins actually enter the breastmilk? Thank you.

HI...YOu should completely eliminate the cow milk products from your diet also. If you do not stop, the blood in the stool of your son will never have a definitive diagnosis. if you stop and still it comes, then as physicians we will be convinced to go ahead with other investigations. How much doesn't matter, what matters here is quality than quantity.
