General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This needs evaluation
It may just be a hemorrhoid problem, but it could mean a colon polyp or a recurrence of the colon cancer or inflammatory bowel disease, and the next time she may lose a great deal of blood.

Were I her doctor I would do a colonoscopy to determine exactly what is causing the bleeding
