What Causes Blood In Stool While On Methylprednisolone And Cyclobenzaprine?
My 17-year-old daughter pulled a muscle in her neck a couple of days ago. She started on Methylprednisolone dosepak and cyclobenzaprine Thursday. She said this morning she had a small amount of blood in her stool. She just woke me tonight and said she had even more blood in her stool tonight and was worried. She said it was bright red. I am wondering if I need to take her somewhere to be seen tonight or if it can wait and call her doctor in the morning. Thank you.
There is no relation between the mentioned drugs and the bleeding. However, slight bleeding per rectal is not an emergency and mostly is not because of serious causes. This may be because of a Salam polyp or anal fissures or hemorrhoids.
Mostly it's not serious and not an emergency. You can relax and take her to the Dr when feasible. If there is major bleed and if she is not feeling well like fainting then she should be taken to ER but that's unlikely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah,
