What Causes Blood In Stool While Suffering From Food Poisoning?
I contracted food poisoning from dinner last night. I had strong abdominal pains and frequent diarrhea in the middle of the night (no nausea or vomiting). It continued in the morning, but has become less and less frequent as the day has progressed, and has probably stopped now. Ordinarily, I would not be concerned at all, as it seems I m recovering quickly, but there has been blood in my stool. It could be from hemorroids, as the diarrhea and constant wiping as irritated my rectum, but I m not sure.
Hi, Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your bowl movements and blood in stools.
As you said it was because of food poisoning, during the time of food poisoning the toxins which are present in food can also damage the mucosa of intestine and because of that there is blood in stools.
You don't need to worry any more but in case you found any symptoms of fever or too much blood in stools or even Terry black stools. You need to visit a general physician for further evaluation.
Hope my answer will help you and write us back if you feel any further need. Regards Dr Muzaffer.
