What Causes Blood In Stool?

HI, I am 34 years old and off lately have been experiencing some blood in the stool the day after i drink. I dont drink regularly. I drink once a week (weekend) with my friends (3-4 pegs). within last couple of months, i have bled 3 times the morning after i had drinks. Wasn t much but i could see that on toilet paper and then it stopped by itself. I never had any sort of pain too. Just been feeling little gastic but it has improved since i have started eating more fiber and intentionally consuming more water everyday. I once went to a doctor too and he said it is Hemorrhoids and gave me an ointment to apply for a week which i did. I didn t bled for next few weeks but has bled again since last 2 weekends only the morning after i had drinks. I noticed that the stool is little hard in texture the day after i drink and that might be doing some damage in the area but i have never felt any pain or not even constipation at any time. I checked by placing a mirror under me and i could see little pulp/cyst like thing at the center of the anus which is only visible if i put pressure & it opens up little bit. As per my understanding that is what bleeds due to hard stool. I am not over weight. I am 162 CM tall & weighs around 140-145 pounds with 11-12% body fat. I dont know what causes this & why it happens only after i drink alcohol. It could be polyp or Hemorrhoids but i am not sure. I am worried if it is something serious like colon or rectal cancer. I am thinking of making another appointment with a doctor next week to get it checked. Please advice.

Hello Sir,
I just read your query. The most common reason behind the rectal bleeding is hemorrhoids(generally called as piles) and fissure in ano. Constipation is the common cause behind both of them. Sometimes unfortunate causes like ano rectal cancer may cause bleeding too.
* As your doctor have ruled out the hemorrhoids. In hemorehoids the veins of rectum and anus are swollen and inflammed. Hemorrhoids can be dry or with bleeding.
*As you told that you get bleeding only after drinking then the probable cause may be dehydration. As drinking may lead to dehydration in the body and dehydration may further lead to constipation. In constipation hard stool occurs which may lead to bleeding fron rectum. Sometimes you might not face other symptoms like pain, itching etc. but only get bleeding in stool.
* The mass you have seen through mirror may be the swollen veins which are visible after straining or after putting pressure. It can be polyp but can not be ruled out without clinical examination.
* You have made a right decision to visit your physician. As only with the help of local examination doctor will rule out whether that are swollen veins or anything else. If that was swollen veins and its only hemorrhoids then he will provide you treatment and diet modification according to that. But as your are worried about cancer, and if he finds something wrong then he will definitely advice you some investigations and you will come to know about your exact cause of bleeding.
* Till than avoid taking alcohol and spicy food and excessive caffeinated drinks.
* I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
Thank you.
