Hello and welcome to HCM,
Blood in stools can occur in case of gastrointestinal tract (GIT) infection, hemorrhoids,
inflammatory bowel disease, mesenteric vein occlusion or malignancy.
Blood in stools accompanied by
constipation (passage of stools once to twice a week) and cramps in stomach is suggestive of some kind of blockage in the GIT.
A complete general physical examination as well as systemic examination of the GIT is required.
The condition of the hemorrhoids needs to be assessed for its location, degree and whether they are active or not.
A colonoscopic examination of the lower GIT needs to be done to look for any evidence of ulcer, growth or inflammation.
If any suspicious lesion is detected, a
biopsy needs to be taken.
In addition, a general physical examination is required to look for evidence of pallor or
anemia.
Concurrently, anemia also needs to be treated.
Thanks and take care
