What Causes Blood In Stools Of A Milk Intolerant Toddler?
Hello my baby she is 15 month when she was 3 month blood were found in her stool and was diagnosed as com milk allergy so I stopped dairy products till she turned to one year as the doctors advice now she has watery greenish stool and pus was found she only once had blood in her stool what is the diagnosis do I have to stop dairy products again ? And does that affect the calcium and her bones in future how I can supplement the in tale of dairy products thank you
It is important to differentiate whether your baby is suffering from milk allergy or lactose intolerance. The management of both conditions is different and hence both need to be differentiated. I suggest you to get routine stool examination and stool pH after consuming milk. The pH of stool is less than 5.5 on two occasions in case of lactose intolerance. I suggest you to consult your pediatrician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
