What Causes Blood In Stools Post Intake Of ASA For Back Pain?

Hav been taking medication that has asa in it for back pain, now my stool shows some bright red like bleeding.. Should I go to emergency room or is it OK to watch a couple hours to see if it continues? I wil stop the aspirin...sunshine YYYY@YYYY

Thank you for the query.

Its fine to wait and see. The bleeding can be somehow associated with ASA intake. However most probable reason are just hemorrhoids. You may also have itching around the anus, some mucus in the stool.
Hemorrhoids are a result of constipation, bad diet, pregnancy or steady lifestyle.
You may try to improve your diet adding fiber rich products. It wont cure hemorrhoids, but can stop the progress.

If the bleeding will reappear, consult proctologist.
