Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I am 23 years old male, I have noticed eating strong amount of meat causes blood in stool. Usually eating cooked chicken mixed with other meals is fine but yesterday I had a beef burger. I do believe I have haemmoroids but usually the effect is seen when I eat heavy amount of meat. Its like meat alone is toxic to my body. Any reason and advice for this ?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Cause for blood in stools after consuming meat could be due to bleeding from hemorrhoids or anal fissures due to constipation. Drink good quantity of water. You can take bulk forming laxatives like Isabgol husk powder daily at bedtime for 5 days. See that you include sufficient quantity of fibre in the diet further to prevent constipation. In case the bleeding happens often and does not subside, you have to get examined by Surgeon and undergo hemorrhoidectomy of fissurotomy by means of cryosurgery. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
