What Causes Blood In The Spit And Black Traces In Stools Of A 2 Month Old?
my 2 months old baby has had a little blood in her spit up 5 days ago and again yesterday, along with some black traces in her poop. she is mostly breastfeed but i introduced on bootle of formula every night 5 weeks ago and she was taking the bottle well until recently when she decided not to take the bottle anymore, and the extra breastfeeding made my nipples sore and sometimes really hurting and there is a tiny hint of blood on the tip of the nipple. i used silicone nipple to relieve the soreness but my baby didnt want to eat from it although i did this in the first weel of breastfeeding and she was eating just fine. does this mean that my baby doesnt take artificial nipple well? is it why she doesnt eat formula? does the black traces in my baby's poop come from blood she ingested from my nipple?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I congratulate you on giving a very detailed and logical information.
Coming to your queries one by one -
1. She doesn't seem to like artificial nipple 2. Formula may be disliked due to taste issues too. 3. Black traces in the baby's poop come from blood she ingested from your nipple. 4. To be frank, until 6 months exclusive breast feeding is THE BEST for the baby (WHO Guidelines)
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
