What Causes Blood In The Sputum?

Hi Sir my name is Rajesh and when I wake up at morning yesterday I saw blood in basin when I spit. Today till 5:30 am it was ok and when I slept with the help of chest and woke up at 8:15 am and went to wash my face and spit in basin I saw blood again but it was less if I compare with yesterday. So request you to please help me by suggesting me what could be the reason and what should I do.

According to your complain you have problem of blood in sputum that may because of lung infection or other condition.

Acute bronchitis may ruled out.
Pneumonia or tuberculosis lead to blood in sputum.
Pulmonary edema may cause blood in sputum.

You are not mention a consistency and frequency of sputum.
Proper physical examination and history give exact idea.

Consent a pulmonologist for further diagnosis.
Respiratory wheezing sound helpful in diagnosis.

Do a complete blood cell and sputum culture test.
Chest x ray give exact idea about disease.
After sputum culture test start a antibiotics course under doctor's suggestion.
