Hello, I am a 49 year old female(smoker) who had a historectomy for borderline stage 1 cervical cancer 13 years ago. 4 days ago I started passing blood in my Urine. Day 2 I went to dr where they done a urinalysis and said they found nothing wrong. They took X-rays looking for kidney stone and found nothing. They done blood work and found that my platelet count was 140. He referred me to see a urologist. The urologist office called today and the can t see me before September the 23. Would you wait for the appointment or go to the emergency room and have more test done? I have only had a little pain and that was in my lower abdomen this morning after standing on my feet for about an hour.
The presence of blood in urine could be for 2 main reasons: - laceration in urinary pathways. But they did check and nothing wrong was found - then we can think of blood coming from your genitalia but is present in urine. In this case, an immediate appointment with gynecologist is highly recommended. So, ask your doctor to refer immediate appointment with gynecologist or go to ER and explain you are having blood in urine and that you had a hysterectomy 13 years ago for borderline stage 1 cervical cancer.
Hope this helps.
