What Causes Blood In Urine Along With Back Pain Post Intake Of Plan B?
Hi I took plan b about 5 days ago and everything was fine up until 3 days ago when I started having symptoms like a uti. Painful to use the restroom, blood in urine, lower back hurts. Ive never experienced a uti and I have never taken the plan b. Did plan be cause a uti?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill which will help in preventing unwanted pregnancies. Taking Plan B will not cause urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection is caused by bacteria. Since you are passing blood in urine, it could be due to urinary tract infection (UTI). Since you have pain in the lower back, it could be also due to kidney stones. Kindly get the following tests done to confirm. 1. Urine routine examination. 2. Urine culture and sensitivity test. 3. Ultrasound abdomen. Depending on the report, you need to take appropriate antibiotics for specified period for its cure. Kindly consult Urologist for proper advise and management. Drink good quantity of water and citrus fruit juices. Hope the information provided would be helpful. Wish you all the best.
