What Causes Blood In Urine And Lower Back Pain?

Need a diagnosis. I have blood in my urine and right lower back pain. I had a urine test done and a urine culture was done and it showed negative for UTI infection. My doctor is talking about sending me to get a Cat Scan to check bladder and kidneys and ruling out cancer. Any suggestions?

Hello.
This is likely a kidney stone problem and the scan would check for that
Cancer doesn't usually cause back pain even if it involves the kidneys or the bladder
