Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I am 63 yrs. old and until the last year or so I have never had UTI s. For some years though I have had microscopic hematuria 99% of the time. I ve had 4 UTI s this past year. The last problem in May of this year I urinated a large amount of blood with clots. It was painful like a UTI and stopped in 2 days. I ve had a Cystoscopy, Renal US and a Cat Scan. There are a few lesions on my kidneys but small. Otherwise normal. Should I worry or is this just me?
As you mentioned you have problem of recurrent urinary tract infection that may be because of diabitic problem or prostatitis or kidney infection or other reasons. Consult a nephrologist for further diagnosis. Detail history and investigation give exact idea about problems. Start a treatment as per reason behind it.. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink more water. Avoid spicy foods, alcohol drinking and smoking.. Urine alkalytic agent is helpful in uti. Craneberry juice is helpful in uti.
I hope this will help. Get well soon.. Thank you.
