Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Once nephrotic syndrome is not healed in children with steroids, or if patient develops blood in urine (and there is no other causes of blood in urine like UTI) then biopsy becomes important. So, I personally understand that he would need biopsy. I would advise you should see a nephralogist for better opinion and management. At the moment augment and steroids are OK.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
