Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have blood in my urine that comes and goes. I have no pain and no more than normal frequency, but sometimes I have an urgency to go. It usually appears on the toilet tissue after I urinate and the urine in the bowl appears to be brownish red in color.
Hi, welcome to HCM. Blood in urine occurs mainly due to urinary tract infection, nephropathy or renal stones. In urinary tract infection, there is burning sensation while urinating. In renal stones blood might come before or after urination and there is also some urgency. In nephropathy blood pressure may rise. In my opinion, you should do a urine routine microscopy and culture test, KFT, X ray KUB for renal stones, ultrasound KUB for renal stones and measurement of blood pressure. Further treatment will depend on above reports. I hope this has helped you. Take care. Regards - Dr Deepak Patel, MD Pediatrics
