What Causes Blood In Urine?

I am 58. I have had only one period in about 6 years. Now everyone I pee and wipe the tissue is pink... Kidney function has been low.... Only other big change is I have started taking 50,000 units of Vitamin D once a week. Could this blood be from kidneys?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The most common cause of blood in urine can be a kidney stone or a urinary tract infection. I recommend doing an ultrasound and a urine test for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
