Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What causes blood in an urine analysis other than an infection? I had two u a s that showed a little blood. My doctor is going to refer me to a urologist. I have been having some pain in my right lower back that goes into my left leg, especially when I stand up from sitting. Is there a connection? It seems like I have a little trouble emptying my bladder when I urinate. I push a little harder to get it all out at the end. Thank you
hi, thank you for using healthcare magic. I understand your concern completely. RBCs in urine has a wide variety of causes and a few further investigations are needed to narrow down the causes, especially urine for RBC morphology. This test lets us know the site of problem that where exactly is the blood coming from in the urinary tract. One common reason other than infection is stones. A CT KUB or simply an Xray KUB or an ultrasound is needed, but a CT will give a whole picture. I hope this helps.
