Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Abdullah's Response
Greetings, this is Dr.Soliman and I will be your healthcare assistant.
presence of blood in urine in your husband's condition caused by prolonged use of catheter and this is common side effect of using the catheter as it irritates and scratch the bladder causing this presence of blood and mostly it will heal by itself and with drinking a lot of water to keep the urine clear, and also observe the catheter for possible block by blood clots from the leaked blood, cause it may need to be cleared from any blockage or replacement.
I hope this answer is satisfactory and fulfill your query and wish your husband to get well soon, please consider giving this answer 5 star rating.
