What Causes Blood Infection Post Surgery For Fused Uterus?

What causes a blood infection? My daughter has been in the hospital since September 1st 2014, she was to be released on Thursday. Her issue was a fused uterus to her colon, she had all the surgeries in order to correct this including a colostomy bag put on which she will be having on for at 6 months. Now I m told she has this blood infection. How serious is this? Is it common for this to happen?

it is not common forthis. but due to colonostomy there is a posibility. blood culture and sensitivity is to be done and recomanded antibiotic is to be taken for proper duration. after removal of foecal pouch every thing will be slowly normal.
