Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Blood in the mucus of an infant is concerning for bacterial infection of intestines (also called bacterial gastroenteritis). If it is associated with intense abdominal pain, then the possibility of intussusception should also be ruled out. Stool analysis and culture can determine the need for antibiotics. So please be advised to follow up with her pediatrician as soon as possible. Early initiation of treatment is important for infants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
