What Causes Blood Vessels In Stomach To Burst And Vomit Blood?

my son was very ill at the wkend and he vomited blood quite a lot of blood hes 28 and was seiously worried a docter told him today he has burst blood vessles in his stomach im really worried what does this mean

Many causes for blood vomiting(hematemesis)
Few causes mentioned here.

1.bleeding ulcers
2.prolonged and vigorous retching that causes tears in the esophageal mucosa (known as Mallory-Weiss Syndrome)
3.gastric or intestinal varices
4.vascular malfunctions of the gastroentestinal tract
tumors in the stomach or esophagus
5.gastroenteritis, gastritis, or peptic ulcers can cause internal bleeding
6.radiation exposure
7.hemorrhagic fever

We don't know correct cause for your son blood vomiting because history and endoscopy report not mentioned.

Probably Your son suffering gastric or intestinal varices (dilated veins in the stomach) they may ruptured.
