My 4 year old son (32 lbs) has been having very large, hard boogers in his right nostril consistently 4-5 times a day for the past week. Most recent they have some blood in them. Today watery blood has been coming out of his left nostril when the large bloody boogers are in his right nostril. Is this something to have him see a dr for or is it just dry nasal passages? I was not concerned until the blood started happening. In June he has his adenoids removed if this means anything
Noted the history about your 4 year old son having large booger in his right nostril, blood sometimes, history of adenoid removal in June. With teh history you have provided having a large booger in one nostril only in a child is first suggestive of a foreign body hence you should consult an ENT Surgeon for proper evaluation of the problem and diagnosis. He will remove the foreign body if present, give antibiotic and anti-inflammatory along with decongestant nasal drops and the problems will be finished. But if the cause is something else then it will be investigated accordingly and treated as per the cause found. Do not try anything at home.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
