Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 56 diabetic, have a fib, and left side paralysis from stroke in 2007. For the past two days, I have noticed my left foot has a light blue shade of coloring but no unusual pain. Should I been concerned about what I assume is poor circulation in the lft foot? I sit a lot ay my desk but I play with my dog a lot outside as well. I went to the gym twice to three times a week until my back became so painful around January of this year.
Poor circulation is one of the more common reasons for blue discoloration of the foot. In most persons, it is intermittent with the circulation worsening with activity and improving with rest.
If there is no improvement then you should be seen as soon as possible so that the blood supply in the area can be assessed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
General & Family Physician
