What Causes Blue Discolouration In Feet While Suffering From Raynaud S Disease?
I have Raynaud s in my fingers and toes. not much in the summer. the last few days when I sit on the couch and put my feet up they turn blue, no pain, no tingling only change color. when I stand up they go back to normal. do you know what might be going on.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The natural history of Raynaud's disease is characterized by change in color from pale to blue to pink. Raynaud's disease is a vascular disorder causing inflammation of blood vessels. Thus, the change in color to blue and then back to normal is a normal finding in Raynaud's disease. Since, Raynaud's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease, treatment has to be continued. The disease becomes worse in winters but improves in summers.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
