What Causes Blue Lips And Extreme Thirst In A 2 Years Old?

My eldest daughter is now 26.As a child she had very blue lips when we had been swimming.I eventually took her to the docs who said it was steals syndrome and nothing t worry about.
She now has 2 children.The youngest Jack has quite bad skin.Recently he started drinking loads,enough t alarm his mum(also lots of wet nappys)She was changing him at least twice a nite.He is 15m and was well and truly sleeping through.She was told by doc that it was a viral infection.No tests were taken.He has since improved but is still waking at least once a night 4 a drink of water.He guzzles the whole drink down and when i suggested that she reduce the drink(in case it had become a habbit)his thirst just wasnt satisfied.Now today she has told me that his lips keep having a bluish tinge t them.It does not seem t connect t anything.Please could u give me some sound advice t give t her as she seems t think that as she had the colouring of the lips when she was younger its not a prob 4 Jack,also i think that she should take him back about his drinking.?????

In my opinion the blue lip condition need to be brought for investigation to rule out the possibility of cyanosis and the best option would be cardiac evaluation if this turns unremarkable then no need to worry about this, hope this information helps.
