I am 15 years old and I am not sexually active - I have never had sex. I am two weeks late on my period and the other day I noticed blue veins on my right breast. (The veins may have been there for a while and its possible that I could have only noticed them because I was paranoid) Also, I have been experiencing both sharp and dull pains in my lower abdomen (the very lowest part) and my pelvis. My breasts are not overly sore, nor have they grown, but my lower back has been a little sore and I have been exhausted lately (which could also be because football just started practice and I am a student trainer so I have been outside in the sun for 8 hours a day). I am very scared and nerous about the new happenings, please help! Thanks!
Hi, Thanks for letting us know your health concern. Your symptoms are not abnormal. They are often observed at your age. Veins are blue and can be seen when the overlying skin is thin. Vascularity is enhanced before the onset of the period and hence the veins become prominent. Tiredness can be due to exertion and you need not worry about conception since you are not sexually active. You can go for a sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route to know the status of the pelvic organs and plan further management. Hope this helps.
