What Causes Blurred Vision After Taking Vancomycin?
Yes, hello My daughter and I have both been diagnosed with C Diff. I have completed my course of Flagyl, and still tested positive today. My doctor has now Vancomycin, for round 2. Is this the best course of action? Is there anything else I can try? My daughter has been on Vancomycin for 6 days and today started having blurred vision in her right eye. Is this something to worry about?
Flagyl and Vancomycin are the two most used antibiotics for C.diff. Since there is increasing resistance to flagyl, the next best antibiotic to use is Vancomycin.
I do not think your daughter's blurred vision is related to Vancomycin. It may be due to many other causes which I cannot tell without knowing her medical history. I advise you to talk to her doctor about this symptom.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ornela Ademovi, General & Family Physician
