What Causes Blurred Vision After Withdrawing From Opana?

I am weaning off the opioid Opana. Originally 20mg every 12 hours, then 15, then 10, and as of tomorrow, starting 7.5mg. Each of the last two segments, I have done in a month each. I have progressively had my vision become blurrier, but accept that at 69, it isn t going to be blissful without my correction. However, I want to have my eye exam after the last of the Opana is out of my system. I already take sulfazalizine for many years of UC control, and that affects vision, but that will be taken forever. I just want to know when to have my ophthalmologist s appointment in order to have the best results sans Opana. What suggestions do you have?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi,

You should visit the ophthalmologist as soon as possible and take opinion regarding preventing further deterioration or affect of Opana on vision. If required it should be stopped. Loss of vision should be monitored.
Fundus examination is required which can indicate the affect of phobial status.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash,
