What Causes Blurred Vision And Dizziness?

I have had four episodes this afternoon and evening where I am sitting down (3 times) or standing (once) and start feeling very hot and my vision blurs (once it went to black, the first time) and I feel like I m going to pass out (which I have never done). After a minute or two, I start feeling better. I had a bad cold last week, which I am mostly over. I do not take any prescription medications except for estrogen and progesterone.
