What Causes Blurred Vision For A 71-year-old Male?
my husband is 71 years old and in good health! He did have a heart valve in 2000. But has recently has had a checkup and there are no issues. However, just this weekend his vision has become a little blurry. He has only used readers until now. He has tried Tears thinking it was dry eye or something. It is strange that there has been no event to cause a vision change in both eyes. It is Sunday and began Friday all of a sudden. No dramatic decline this weekend. But what could be causing this vision change? He will try to get into his eye doctor tomorrow or soon. Thank you
Thanks for the detailed history. Since history of valve replacement few years back, sudden loss of vision, i would be thinking in terms of retinal arterial occlusion. Other possibilities are Non arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and wet age related macular degeneration. I would suggest to get an urgent retina/ ophthalmologist check up done. Thanks..
