Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Blurred Vision When On Fluoxetine And Wellbutrin?
Hi I am on fluoxetine 40 mg and have been on it for 4-5 years. My Dr just added wellbutrin 100mg twice a day. I have taken one so far. Am I suppose to have blurry vision? She wants me to take this with the fluoxetine. Also I feel kind of sleepy. Just curious if this is normal.
Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of taking these medications? Blurring of the vision is an important side effect that can occur with the use of wellbutrin. You must inform your doctor about it so that an alternate effective but a safer medicine would be prescribed.
Besides when taken together with fluoxetine, wellbutrin may increase the risk of seizures (convulsions) and wellbutrin can increase the blood levels of fluoxetine, which may increase other side effects. Risk of getting seizures will be more if you are elderly, consuming alcohol or ave a history of seizures or head injury.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
