When I close my right eye and keep my left eye open it gets a tiny little bit better. It almost feels like my eyes aren t working together. What s wrong?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Glasses & contact lenses are set for good vision at optimum distance so it is natural to have blurred vision if you change the set distance. A other one gets a clear vision as a rest of combined effect of vision by both the eyes. The refractory index of both the eyes can vary but they are well adjusted while number of spectacles is prescribed. When you look with a single eye you may not get the best vision. Please follow the instructions given on prescription / report of eye examination. Clear any doubt after discussion with treating ophthalmologist. Please take your specks & the number report while meeting him.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
